Lake of Stars Festival Accommodation.

After 15 years, something new is coming to the lake. Lake of Stars Festival returns this year in an exciting new format: Lake of Stars Discovery. The three-day celebration will take place in a beautiful, remote setting where a castle stands on the curve of the lake – Kachere Kastle.

Located in the Nkhata Bay district, northern Malawi, Kachere Kastle is a stunning lodge built in the style of a Moroccan castle, set on rolling white sands by the crystal-clear waters of Lake Malawi.

Offering a unique, immersive adventure for festival goers, Lake of Stars Discovery will bring you a curated line up of music, talks, poetry, theatre, film, art and wellness activities from Malawi and across the globe, in an intimate and inspiring setting.

The country is so diverse, and there is so much to see and do in Malawi that it can be overwhelming. So here is a list of some of the very best bits:

Before the party starts: Why not book onto a cross-border safari into the awesome South Luangwa National Park in Zambia?

During Lake of Stars: Stay here Makokola Retreat! And why not give a little back and spend a few hours volunteering on a local Malawi community project?

After Lake of Stars: There are many options of things to do after the festivities end. Some of our recommended things to do once the music has finished would be to visit Cape Maclear, kayak to Domwe Island, climb Mount Mulanje or go on safari to Liwonde National Park. One could also spend time volunteering in a lakeside community!
